Can you remember the feeling as you get close to the end of a road trip?
That anticipation that there is relaxation, a home cooked meal and a warm bed to lay your weary head. You feel impatient to have that last stretch done so that you are home. You concentrate intensely, your eyes on the road and your mind thinking of the last twists and turns that lead you to your driveway.
Unsurprisingly, that is the feeling I am having right now. I am tantalisingly close to that final chemo session being finished. Patient’s is a virtue I am struggling with at the moment. One more to go, I say as I try to stay awake, head bobbing after fatigue sets in again. Not as bad, mind you, as before.
That last turn before home is in sight, but there is more to do after that. It will be over early in July, I hope. Humpty Dumpty back together again 🙂
Cheers Merc.
